Back to the carcase!
When we get to the finishes part of this one question may arise, what do we do with the leading edges of the panels?
Regardless of the finish (paint, laminate or other ) the leading edges need some attention.
The standard method of finish is to use T-molding
It's very hardwearing and gives a really neat finish. Available in different colours and finishes.
You need a router and a slot cutter to cut a groove into the edge to accept the molding and that's it !
No glue is needed, just a slight tap with the handle of a hammer and your done, easy peesy and you got a real pro finish.
If you think I got a huge big workshop out back with all the latest greatest woodcutting gear your wrong!
I dont, a small workbench, and no cover. So I am at the mercy of the elements and it rained, it rained lots and lots.
So in addition to cutting out the slot for the t-molding all I got done was the door for the coin acceptor and panel to hold the X-arcade joystick.
Still, it's starting to look like something now and the end is in sight :-)
Oh, and it's starting to get heavy, very heavy!
